About South Coast Pickleball

South Coast Pickleball was created to bring serious, structured competition to the region.

What started as social games quickly turned into a realisation... there was no independent, organised competition pathway on the South Coast with official DUPR ratings.

That motivated us (Luca & Josh) to bring our vision to life: to become the biggest Pickleball Competitions & Tournaments Host on the South Coast.

So we built it.

Why We Started South Coast Pickleball

We began playing pickleball socially, like most people do. As the sport grew, so did the desire to compete properly.

But at the time, structured DUPR rated competitions were largely limited to Sydney. There was no consistent, independent competition framework across the Illawarra and South Coast region.

But we could not find a venue, until Blake from Figtree Pickleball & Titan Tennis reached out to us.

We all aligned on one thing: to build an independent Tournaments & Competitions Pickleball Organisation on the South Coast.

South Coast Pickleball was founded to create organised weekly competitions and larger tournaments that give players structure, fairness, and official rating progression.

An Independent Competition Organisation

South Coast Pickleball operates independently from any single club.

We collaborate with venues and partners across the region, but our mission is simple: To build a competition system that serves players first.

We do not favour one club over another. Our goal is to create a competitive pathway that benefits the entire South Coast pickleball community.

By working alongside venues like North Wollongong Pickleball and Figtree Pickleball, we’re building something bigger than just a single location.

1. Host Weekly DUPR Comps

We run structured weekly DUPR competitions with live ladders and real ratings.

2. Host Quarterly DUPR Tournaments

Every quarter, we aim to host a larger scale event tournament for serious players.

3. Promote Pickleball in the South Coast

We support social play, club growth, and the overall development of pickleball across Wollongong, Shellharbour, Kiama, and surrounding areas.
