Frequently Asked Questions About Our Weekly Singles Competition

What skill level do I need to join the singles competition?

We run multiple divisions to suit different skill levels. Division 1 is for advanced players, while Division 2 is designed for intermediate competitors building consistency. If you're unsure which division is right for you, we recommend starting in Division 2. To enter division 1, you need a DUPR of 3.5+ or you need to perform well in division 2 first.

What is DUPR and why does it matter?

DUPR (Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating) is a global rating system that measures player performance. Eligible matches in our competitions contribute toward your DUPR rating, helping you track improvement and compete at the right level. To get your DUPR, you'll need to apply for it first, and then we can add your match results to DUPR every week.

Where are your singles competitions held?

Our competitions are held in the Illawarra region. Division 1 singles are currently hosted at Beaton Park Leisure Centre in Gwynneville, with other sessions held at our Figtree location. Venue details are listed on each division page.

How often do singles competitions run?

Our singles competitions run weekly in a structured ladder format. Players compete within their division and results impact rankings and progression.

Can I move between divisions?

Yes. Division placement is based on performance and DUPR rating. Players who consistently perform well may be promoted, while others may move divisions to ensure competitive balance.
